The Darkness
Running scared,
She sprints down the dim wooded path.
The darkness that had haunted her,
Hungry again.
She trips,
Landing on the ground in a pile of leaves.
She jumps up,
And runs on.
Afraid of The Shadow that stalks her,
She doesn't look back.
Slowing to a halt,
Her lungs burn,
Her legs weak.
Holding her breath,
Giving in to his power,
She slowly turns.
The Darkness surrounds her,
Satisfying his hunger.
